Qì-Righting Lindera and Cyperus Powder
正气天香散 〔正氣天香散〕zhèng qì tiān xiāng sǎn

Ingredients:
- Xiāng fù (香附 Cyperi Rhizoma, cyperus [rhizome]) 9–12g
- Chén pí (陈皮 Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, tangerine peel) 5–9g
- Wū yào (乌药 Linderae Radix, lindera [root]) 6–9g
- Sū yè (苏叶 Perillae Folium, perilla leaf) 3–6g
- Gān jiāng (干姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma, dried ginger) 2–3g
Action: Rectifies qì and resolves depression.
Indication: Qì stagnation with fullness and oppression in the chest and diaphragm,

Method: Decoct with water.
Rationale: Xiāng fù courses the liver and rectifies qì; it also regulates menstruation and relieves pain. For this reason, it is an important agent in the treatment of women's diseases. Wū yào, Chén pí, and Zǐ sū yè rectify qì and loosen the center, Thus, addressing the fullness and oppression in the chest and diaphragm. Gān jiāng disperses cold and relieves pain. Thus, all the agents work together to rectify qì, regulate menstruation, and relieve pain.
