Unripe Bitter Orange, Long-Stamen Onion, and Cinnamon Twig Decoction
枳实薤白桂枝汤 〔枳實薤白桂枝湯〕zhǐ shí xiè bái guì zhī tāng

Ingredients:
- Zhǐ shí (枳实 Aurantii Fructus Immaturus, unripe bitter orange) 12g
- Hòu pò (厚朴 Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex, officinal magnolia bark) 12g
- Xiè bái (薤白 Allii Macrostemonis Bulbus, long-stamen onion [bulb]) 9g
- Guì zhī (桂枝 Cinnamomi Ramulus, cinnamon twig) 6g
- Guā lóu (栝蒌 Trichosanthis Fructus, trichosanthes [fruit]) 12g
Action: Frees yáng and rectifies qì; disperses binds and relieves pain.
Indication: Chest impediment (xiōng bì) with glomus and fullness below the heart, qì ascending counterflow from the rib-side. Tongue fur: White and slimy. Pulse: Sunken and stringlike, or tight.
