Source: Dòu Zhěn Xīn Fǎ 痘疹心法

Ingredients:

• Niú huáng (牛黄 Bovis Calculus, bovine bezoar) 0.25g
• Zhū shā (朱砂 Cinnabaris , cinnabar) 1.5g
• Huáng lián (黄连 Coptidis Rhizoma, coptis [root]) 5g
• Huáng qín (黄芩 Scutellariae Radix, scutellaria [root]) 2.5g
• Shān zhī (山栀 Gardeniae Fructus, gardenia [fruit]) 3g
• Yù jīn (郁金 Curcumae Radix, curcuma [root]) 1–2g

Action: Clears heat and resolves toxin; opens the orifices and quiets the spirit.

Indication: Heat entering the pericardium, clouded spirit and delirious speech, vexation and agitation, and fright reversal.

Method: Form into 500 mg pills.

Dosage: 1–2 pills 1–2 times a day.
