Bear's Gall Pill
熊胆丸 〔熊膽丸〕 xióng dǎn wán

Ingredients
- Xióng dǎn (熊胆 Ursi Vesica Fellea, bear’s gallbladder)
- Shǐ jūn zǐ (使君子 Quisqualis Fructus, quisqualis [fruit])
Indications: Child gān accumulation.
Method: Ingredients in equal proportions. Grind to a powder, steam, and form into 100 mg pills.
Dosage: 20 pills at a time.
Rationale: Most worming-expelling agents are toxic and harsh in their effects. Shǐ jūn zǐ and Xióng dǎn are exceptions to the rule; they are gentle on the body, but nevertheless effective expelling worms. Shǐ jūn zǐ not only kills worms, but also fortifies the spleen and increases the appetite―see shijunziwan. Xióng dǎn, in addition to brightening the eyes and settle tetany, kills worms and resolves toxin.
