Ingredients:

• Shú dì huáng (熟地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata, cooked rehmannia [root]) 24g
• Shān zhū yú (山茱萸 Corni Fructus, cornus [fruit]) 12g
• Shān yào (山药 Dioscoreae Rhizoma, dioscorea [root]) 12g
• Zé xiè (泽泻 Alismatis Rhizoma, alisma [tuber]) 9g
• Dān pí (丹皮 Moutan Cortex, moutan [bark]) 9g
• Fú líng (茯苓 Poria , poria) 9g
• Zhī mǔ (知母 Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, anemarrhena [root]) 9g
• Huáng bǎi (黄柏 Phellodendri Cortex, phellodendron [bark]) 9g

Action: Enriches yīn and drains fire.

Indication: Yīn vacuity with effulgent fire with steaming bone tidal heat effusion, seminal emission, night sweating, yellow or reddish urine, dry mouth, slight sore throat, red tongue fur, and pulse that is fine, rapid, and forceful at the cubit.

Method: Grind all ingredients and form into pills with honey, 15g in weight. Alternatively, prepare the ingredients as a decoction.

Notes: Variant of Liù wèi dì huáng wán (六味地黄丸 Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill); also called Zhī bǎi dì huáng wán (知柏地黄丸 Anemarrhena, Phellodendron, and Rehmannia Pill) and Zī yīn bā wèi wán (滋阴八味丸 Yīn-Enriching Eight-Ingredient Pill).
