Ingredients:

• Chái hú (柴胡 Bupleuri Radix, bupleurum [root]) 6g
• Gé gēn (葛根 Puerariae Radix, pueraria [root]) 9g
• Chì sháo (赤芍 Paeoniae Radix Rubra, red peony [root]) 6g
• Huáng qín (黄芩 Scutellariae Radix, scutellaria [root]) 9g
• Zhī mǔ (知母 Anemarrhenae Rhizoma, anemarrhena [root]) 6g
• Shēng dì huáng (生地黄 Rehmanniae Radix Exsiccata seu Recens, dried/fresh rehmannia [root]) 12g
• Dān pí (丹皮 Moutan Cortex, moutan [bark]) 9g
• Bèi mǔ (贝母 Fritillariae Bulbus, fritillaria [bulb]) 6g
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) 3g

Action: Resolves the flesh and clears heat.

Indication: Externally contracted warm heat disease with depressed internal heat, characterized by heat effusion without aversion to cold, headache, and thirst. This formula is similar to chaigejiejitang, but places emphasis on relieving depressed internal heat.

Method: Decoct with water.

Notes: This is a variant of Chái gé jiě jī tāng (柴葛解肌汤[1] Bupleurum and Pueraria Flesh-Resolving Decoction [1]).
