Source: Shān Hán Lùn 伤寒论

Ingredients

• Fù zǐ (附子 Aconiti Radix Lateralis Praeparata, aconite [accessory root])
• Gān jiāng (干姜 Zingiberis Rhizoma, dried ginger)
• Gān cǎo (甘草 Glycyrrhizae Radix, licorice [root]) (mix-fried)
• Sān qī (三七 Notoginseng Radix, notoginseng [root])

Actions: Returns yáng, boosts qì, and stems counterflow.

Indications: Lesser yīn disease with desertion of yáng qì characterized by reversal cold of the limbs, diarrhea that suddenly ceases by itself. Pulse: Faint, on the verge of expiration. Can be used for any form of yáng desertion pattern with reversal cold of the limbs, profuse sweating, hasty rapid breathing, and a pulse that is sunken and faint.
