Shedding of flesh and loss of bulk

脱肉破䐃 〔脫肉破䐃〕tuō ròu pò jiǒng [hwvarpy tuō ròu pò jùn hwvarpy]

Also loss of bulk and shedding of flesh. From Plain Questions (素问 sù wènyù jī zhēn zàng lùn). Severe emaciation, a sign of debilitation of spleen qì. It is seen in enduring illness and cachexia. See emaciation.

Etymology

Chintuō, shed, desert; 肉 ròu, flesh; 破 pò, break (down); 囷 jùn, also read as jiǒng, protuberant flesh (rendered here as bulk).
