Lung vacuity

肺虚 〔肺虛〕fèi xū

From Plain Questions (素问 sù wèn, zàng qì fǎ shí lùn).

1. Any of various disease patterns of insufficiency of the qì, blood, yīn, and yáng of the lung, attributable to excessive warmth or cold, to enduring disease and weak health, or to enduring cough damaging the lung. Signs include cough, shortness of breath, copious clear thin phlegm, fatigue and laziness to talk, low weak voice, fear of cold spontaneous sweating. In some cases, there is tidal heat, night sweating, heat in the hearts of the palms and soles, insomnia, postmeridian reddening of the cheeks, dry mouth and pharynx, cough with no phlegm or with blood-flecked phlegm. The tongue is pale and tender-soft or tender-red. The pulse is vacuous or weak or fine and rapid.
