外寒 〔外寒〕 wài hán
1. Externally contracted cold evil, characterized by signs such as aversion to cold, heat effusion, absence of sweating, headache, generalized pain, and a tight floating pulse, which develop when cold evil assails the exterior and prevents the normal diffusion and outthrust of yáng qì.
