Direct strike on the triple yīn

直中三阴 〔直中三陰〕zhí zhòng sān yīn

Direct invasion of the yīn channels by disease evils that requires emergency treatment. Normally, disease evils in the early stages give rise to triple-yáng patterns, which may then develop into triple-yīn patterns. However, if the disease evil is strong and right qì is weak, the disease evil can directly strike the triple yīn. In clinical practice, direct strike on the lesser yīn (shào yīn) is the most commonly seen and is due to kidney yáng debilitation and extreme exuberance of yīn-cold.

Medicinal therapy: Return yáng with Counterflow Cold Decoction (四逆汤 sì nì tāng).
