Diffusing formula

One of the ten formula types. Diffusing [medicinals] can eliminate congestion. Thus, Two Matured Ingredients Decoction (二陈汤 èr chén tāng) by the diffusing action of fresh ginger (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens, 生姜 shēng jiāng) and tangerine peel (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, 陈皮 chén pí) can treat distension and oppression in the chest, vomiting and retching, and nausea. Melon Stalk Powder (瓜蒂散 guā dì sǎn), which ejects phlegm-rheum from the stomach, is another example of a diffusing formula.
