HT-2 Green-Blue Spirit

青灵 〔青靈〕qīng líng

Alternate names: 青灵泉 qīng líng quán, Green-Blue Spirit Spring

Channel: HT, Hand Lesser Yīn (shào yīn) Heart Channel

Modern location: An acupoint located on the medial aspect of the upper arm, 3 cùn superior to the cubital crease, on the medial side of the biceps brachii muscle.

Classic location: Three cùn above the elbow, as located when the arm is raised and the elbow stretched out. (Zhēn Jiǔ Dà Chéng)

Local anatomy: The basilic vein, the superior ulnar collateral artery. The medial antebrachial cutaneous nerve, the medial brachial cutaneous nerve and the ulnar nerve.

Action: Frees the channels and quickens the network vessel; regulates qì and blood.

Modern indications: Headache and shivering; yellowing of the eyes; rib-side pain; shoulder and arm pain.

Classic indications: Inability to lift the arm; headache and shivering.

Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.3‒0.5 cùn perpendicular insertion. Moxa: 3‒7 cones; pole 5‒10 min.
