HT-2 Green-Blue Spirit

青灵 〔青靈〕 qīng líng

Alternate names: 青灵泉 qīng líng quán, Green-Blue Spirit Spring

Channel: HT, hand lesser yīn (shào yīn) heart channel

Modern location: An acupoint located on the medial aspect of the upper arm, 3 cùn superior to the cubital crease, on the medial side of the biceps brachii muscle.

Classical location: Three cùn above the elbow, as located when the arm is raised and the elbow stretched out. From The Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (针灸大成 zhēn jiǔ dà chéng)

Local anatomy: The basilic vein, the superior ulnar collateral artery. The medial antebrachial cutaneous nerve, the medial brachial cutaneous nerve and the ulnar nerve.

Action: Frees the channels and quickens the network vessel; regulates qì and blood.

Modern indications: Headache and shivering; yellowing of the eyes; rib-side pain; shoulder and arm pain.

Classical indications: Inability to lift the arm; headache and shivering.

Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.3‒0.5 cùn perpendicular insertion. Moxa: 3‒7 cones; pole 5‒10 min.
