SP-13 Bowel Abode

府舍 〔府舍〕 fǔ shè

Channel: SP, foot greater yīn (tài yīn) spleen channel; shared point on the yīn linking (yīn wéi) vessel

Modern location: An acupoint located in the groin, 0.7 cùn superolateral to SP-12 (chōng mén), 4 cùn lateral to the midline.

Classical location: Three cùn below Abdominal Bind (SP-14), four and a half cùn lateral to the midline of the abdomen. From The Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (针灸大成 zhēn jiǔ dà chéng)

Local anatomy: The ilioinguinal nerve.

Action: Regulates qì dynamic; soothes the liver and relieves pain.

Modern indications: Abdominal pain; mounting qì (shàn qì, inguinal hernia); accumulations and gatherings.

Classical indications: Mounting-conglomeration (shàn jiǎ); acute pain in the thigh; abdominal pain; accumulations and gatherings.

Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.7‒1.0 cùn perpendicular insertion. Moxa: 5 cones; pole 10‒30 min.

Point groups: Intersection point (jiāo huì xué) of the spleen and liver channels and yīn linking vessel (yīn wéi mài).
