Channel: Non-Channel Point

Modern location: An acupoint located in the middle of the eyebrow. When the eye looks straight ahead the point is vertically in line with the pupil.

Classic location: In the center of the eyebrows. (Zhēn Jiǔ Dà Chéng)

Local anatomy: Lateral branches of the frontal artery and vein. The lateral ramus of the frontal nerve.

Modern indications: Painful, red, swollen eyes; drooping eyelid; supraorbital neuralgia; cloudiness of the cornea.

Classic indications: Nearsightedness in young people; eye screens; deviated eyes and mouth; frontal headache.

Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.2 cùn transverse insertion joining BL-2 (zǎn zú) or TB-23 (sī zhú kōng).

Needle sensation: Localized aching and distension, sometimes extending to the eyeball.

Warning: Moxa contraindicated.
