四神聪 〔四神聰〕 sì shén cōng
Channel: Nonchannel point
Modern location: A group of acupoints located on the superior aspect of the head, 1 cùn in front of, behind and on either side of GV-20 (bǎi huì).
Classical location: One inch from Hundred Convergences (GV-20) on all four sides. (Life-Promoting Canon of Acupuncture and Moxibustion)XXX
Local anatomy: The occipital artery, lateral frontal artery, and superficial temporal artery. The great occipital nerve, the auriculotemporal nerve, the lateral branches of the frontal nerve.
Action: Courses the channels and collaterals; enhances movement of the limbs.
Modern indications: Wind stroke hemiplegia; headache; dizziness; insomnia; forgetfulness; epilepsy; mental disorders.
Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.2‒0.3 cùn transverse insertion.
