M-CA-18 Infant’s Palace

子宫 〔子宮〕 zǐ gōng

Channel: Nonchannel point

Modern location: An acupoint located on the lower abdomen, 4 cùn inferior to the level of the umbilicus and 3 cùn lateral to the midline.

Classical location: Three inches either side of Central Pole (CV-3). From The Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (针灸大成 zhēn jiǔ dà chéng)

Local anatomy: The superficial epigastric artery and vein. The iliohypogastric nerve.

Modern indications: Prolapse of the uterus; menstrual irregularities; menstrual pain; flooding and spotting; infertility; eclampsia; pain due to hernia; orchitis.

Needle stimulus: Needling: 0‒8‒1.5 cùn perpendicular insertion. Moxa: 5‒7 cones; pole 10‒15 min.
