LR-11 Yīn Corner

阴廉 〔陰廉〕 yīn lián

Channel: LR, foot reverting yīn (jué yīn) liver channel

Modern location: An acupoint located on the medial aspect of the upper thigh, 2 cùn inferior to ST-30, on the anterior border of the adductor longus muscle.

Classical location: Below Goat Arrow (LR-12 alternate name), two cùn from Surging Qì (ST-30), at the pulsating vessel. From The Great Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion (针灸大成 zhēn jiǔ dà chéng)

Local anatomy: The branches of the medial circumflex femoral artery and vein. The genitofemoral nerve, the branch of the medial femoral cutaneous nerve; deeper, the anterior branch of the obturator nerve.

Action: Soothes the sinews and quickens the network vessels; regulates the penetrating and controlling vessels.

Modern indications: Menstrual irregularities; vaginal discharge; smaller abdominal pain.

Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.5‒0.8 cùn perpendicular insertion. Moxa: 3 cones; pole 3‒5 min.
