交信 〔交信〕jiāo xìn
Channel: KI, Foot Lesser Yīn (shào yīn) Kidney Channel
Modern location: An acupoint located on the medial aspect of the lower leg, 2 cùn superior to the medial malleolus, adjacent to the posterior border of the tibia.
Classic location: Two cùn above the inner anklebone, between the bone and sinew. (Zhēn Jiǔ Jiǎ Yǐ Jīng)
Local anatomy: At the deep level, the posterior tibial artery and vein. The medial crural cutaneous nerve; deeper, the tibial nerve.
Action: Supplements the kidney; regulates the penetrating and controlling vessels; clears heat and eliminates dampness.
Modern indications: Menstrual irregularities; flooding and spotting; yīn protrusion (prolapse of the uterus); mounting qì (shàn qì, inguinal hernia); diarrhea; constipation; painful swelling of the testicles.
Classic indications: Urinary block; mounting (shàn).
Needle stimulus: Needling: 0.4 cùn perpendicular insertion. Moxa: 3 cones; pole 5‒20 min.
Point groups: Cleft point (xī xué) of the yīn springing vessel (yīn qiāo mài).
